Enrollment » Registration

Welcome to Healdsburg Unified School District. In order to process your student’s enrollment registration the District requires two proofs of residency at the time of enrollment, even if an older sibling residing at the same address currently attends school in the District. More information on what qualifies as proof of residency, can be found below:

-Proof of Residency
-Proof of Age  (Birth Certificate, typically)
-Immunization Records
-Last Report Card

For Special Education Students: Current IEP
In addition to the above requirements, all students/parents will be required to accurately complete a paperwork packet prior to attending school. Registration packets can be picked up at the front office of any of our school sites. No student will be permitted to attend until all requirements have been met.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is the first year of a two-year Kindergarten experience. The program is age and developmentally appropriate with a hands-on approach to learning. The TK program is designed for the youngest Kindergarten students. This program gives the gift of time to students to grow socially, emotionally and academically.
The curriculum used in TK reflects the California State Standards for Kindergarten, but is taught at a slower pace and with greater focus on school adjustment, socialization, fine motor development and essential early learning skills. Transitional Kindergarten provides daily opportunities for students to develop social and academic confidence along with an introduction to Kindergarten content standards at a developmentally appropriate pace.
Transitional Kindergarten is not a “preschool” or “pre-Kindergarten” program. School hours are the same as regular Kindergarten classes and students participate in all regular school activities including field trips, assemblies, enrichment classes and special events.

Students whose fifth birthday falls between September 2, 2024 and April 2, 2025 will be automatically enrolled in the TK program. Students with summer birthdays may also be good candidates for this program and can be admitted based on parent request and space availability.

Students who are enrolling in Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year are required to have their fifth birthday on or before September 1, 2024. For more information, please refer
