School Board Information
School district governance is the act of transforming the needs, wishes and desires of the community into policies that direct the community’s schools.
There are four dimensions to the effective governance of any organization. Effective governance tenets encompass the basic characteristics and behaviors that enable governance team members to effectively create a climate for excellence in a school district and maintain the focus on improved student learning and achievement. The governance responsibilities of Healdsburg Unified School District are organized into these four elements.
They are:
- Governing as a unified team with a common vision (unity of purpose)
- Governing within the role of the trustee
- Creating and sustaining a positive governance culture
- Protocols and Procedures to Facilitate Governance Leadership

BOARD MEETINGS
The Healdsburg Unified School District School Board meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Healdsburg City Hall Council Chambers at 401 Grove St., Healdsburg. Sometimes, the date and/or location of a meeting may change due to the availability of a meeting facility and the school calendar.
The Board of Trustees will meet in person at Healdsburg City Hall, but a hybrid model is also available, allowing people to join in person or virtually. The posted agenda has the Zoom Webinar information to join. However, the Board of Trustees only accepts public comment in person.
Members of the public attending meetings in person and wish to address the Board on any agenda or non-agenda item must submit a Public Comment Card at the beginning of the meeting.
In addition to the HUSD Board Meeting being both in-person and virtual we will have Spanish interpretation in both formats. You may join the Zoom Webinar and choose Spanish interpretation or you may come in-person and use our interpretation equipment provided.
