As the Superintendent of Schools, I invite you to get to know our exceptional school district by perusing our website. This website is your portal to the rich, exciting world of learning that takes place in each of our five schools. As you browse the site, you´ll learn about our successes both in and out of the classroom, from Advanced Placement classes to athletics, from art to technology.

Our schools prepare our children well and we watch with pride as our graduates go on to Ivy League and other prestigious private and public colleges. As we recognize that the college track is not the path for every student, we also provide practical, hands-on learning that prepares our students for successful lives beyond the classroom.

Healdsburg is a special place. I was first drawn to Healdsburg by the same things that attract so many: the natural beauty of the place, the strong sense of community, the small town charm and the sophisticated lifestyle. I was also drawn by the extraordinary potential I saw in the schools – the many outstanding, dedicated teachers, the wonderful facilities (including one of the most beautiful elementary schools I have ever seen), committed school administrators, and a parent community notable for its passion and enthusiasm.

In my time here, I have become even more impressed with our extended community´s dedication to excellence in the classroom. Healdsburg´s teachers, parents, community leaders, and donors give so generously that I know we can reach our shared goal of providing superb education that prepares every child to succeed in the 21st century.

Tough fiscal times are requiring every school district in the state to make difficult choices and painful sacrifices. Healdsburg is no exception. But the spirit of this place, and the optimism and commitment of all involved, leaves me confident. I know we can not only survive these financial challenges but also thrive – and emerge on the other side – a stronger, even more successful school district that gives our students the outstanding education they deserve.
