GATE Services

The HUSD is committed to providing opportunities, resources, and encouragement to students who possess demonstrated or potential abilities of giftedness, regardless of background, socioeconomic factors or ethnicity.

The funding source for GATE has shifted as part of California’s effort to balance the state budget and to mitigate cuts made to school funding. Beginning in the 09/10 school year, we are taking a different direction with providing services to GATE students.

We offer enrichment and extension options (instruction and expectations for performance at an advanced level) for all of our students, grades K-12. We are confident that these will appropriately serve GATE-identified students.
