VIP – Volunteers In Partnership: An intergenerational program bringing senior citizens and students together. The goal is to improve student academic.

Funded by: California Department of Education, State of California

Amount: $15,545

Term: July 1998 – June 1999 reapply yearly (received this grant since 1983)

Schools served: Primarily elementary, FMS, HES, FCS with some one on one tutoring in secondary.

 

Healthy Start Planning Grant: A planning grant to access the health and social needs of students and their families and then to apply for an implementation grant. This is a partnership with California Human Services Department of Sonoma State University.

Amount: $50,000 one year funding only

Term: July 1998 – June 1999

Districts/School served: Healdsburg, LEA; and Cloverdale Unified School District. Schools are Fitch Mountain, Healdsburg Elementary, Foss Creek Schools, HUSD; and Jefferson and Washington schools.

 

TUPE – Tobacco Use Prevention: Program in the high schools to provide prevention education and intervention services concerning tobacco. The goal is to lower the incidence of teen smoking and to help students with cessation. This is a partnership with SAY – Social Advocates for Youth.

Funded by: California Department of Education, State of California

Amount: $58,530

Term: January 1998 – January 2000

Districts/Schools served: Healdsburg, LEA; Cloverdale; and Geyserville. Schools are Cloverdale High School and Mountain View and Marce Beccera Continuation; Geyserville Education Park High School and Geyserville Continuation school; Cloverdale High School and Johanna Echols-Hansen Continuation school.

GRIP – Gang Risk Intervention Program: A leadership and enrichment program for students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades.

Funded by: SCOE – Sonoma County Office of Education and California Department of Education, State of California

Amount: $72,700 yearly

Term: July 1998 – June 2000 reapply (received this grant sine 1994-95)

Districts/ Schools served: Healdsburg, LEA, Cloverdale, Geyserville, Windsor

Next Year: (pending – notification end of May) Healdsburg, LEA; Alexander Valley; Cloverdale, North County Court/Community School, SCOE; Geyserville; West Side; and Windsor

Funding: $99,923 reapply yearly three years of funding

 

Healthy Start – HandS Collaborative Implementation Grant, Health and Social Support Programs: A grant which is a collaboration of health and social service

agencies  which will be site based at the elementary school and the family resource center to be at Fitch Mountain Elementary. The goal is to improve students health and well being to increase their ability to learn, stay in school and increase academic performance. This is a partnership with California Human Services Department of Sonoma State University.

Amount: (pending – notification May 15) $400,000 total amount for 3 years

Term:  July 1999 – June 2002 Reapply each year for 3 years.

Schools Served: Fitch Mountain, Healdsburg Elementary, Foss Creek Elementary

 

21st Century – Safe Havens Grant: Afterschool tutoring, recreation and social programs. A collaboration/partnership with United Way of Lake, Mendocino and Sonoma County.

Funded by: U. S. Department of Education

Amount: $3,000,000

Term: Three years - federal grant fiscal year October 1999 – September 2002 (notification for grant is May and or November)

Schools Served: Healdsburg, LEA; Washington, CUSD; Windsor Middle School, WUSD; Geyserville Education Park, GUSD; Healdsburg Junior and Senior High School.

 

Cloverdale After School Grant: After school programs to enrich student learning and to provide a safe place for students. This is a partnership with California Human Services Department of Sonoma State University.

Funded by: California Department of Education, State of California

Amount: (pending – notification end of May) Jefferson Elementary $75,000 and Washington School $75,000 for a total of $150,000

Term: July 1999 – June 2000 reapply yearly with indefinate funding

The grant writer was funded through the HandS Collaborative Healthy Start Planning Grant.

Support Grants for Students/Schools

Parent Awareness Coalition – PAC: Collaborative group lead by the Healdsburg Police Department, Healdsburg Unified School District, parents, community members and local community based organizations. The grant provides scholarships to sport programs; youth programs i.e., scouting; musical instruments for schools, and drama groups, etc.

Funded by: Community Development Block Grant – CDBG

Amount: $20,000

Term: July 1, 1998-99, reapply yearly

Population served: Students K-12 in Healdsburg schools

 

PAC - Water Safety Grant: Provides CPR, First Aid, and swim lessons for 40 students a summer pass for each participant.

Funded by: California Center for Childhood Injury Prevention - Kids Plate Grant

Amount: $5,000

Term: July 1, 1998- 1999

Population served: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th grades in Healdsburg schools

 

PAC Grant: Buy and repair bicycles, purchase socks and shoes as needed for PAC children.

Amount: $4,500

Funded by: Sonoma Wine Growers Association: Amount: $4,500

Term: Provided money with no conditions.

Population served: Students K-12 in Healdsburg schools.
