INSTRUCTIONS
TO APPLICANTS
Internal (current union members) applicants must make
application according to the current collective bargaining agreement.
All other certificated applicants must submit: cover letter; resume;
certificated district application; three current letters of reference or
placement file; and credential(s).
All other classified applicants must submit: cover letter, district
application and resume. Three (3) recent letters of recommendation (work
related) may be required for certain positions, including
Confidential/Classified Management.
All required application materials specified must be received in the
Human Resources Department by 4:30 p.m. on the closing date. Additional
materials included in your application but not required for application
will not be reviewed/considered in the screening process. It is the
total responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all application
materials are received in the Human Resources Department by the closing
date; postmarks will not be honored. Human Resources is not responsible
for delays that may occur in the mailing out of application materials
from the Human Resources office.
All documents included in your application file become the property of
the District and will not be returned. Your file for this opening will
not be considered for future openings. New documents must be submitted
for each future opening.
Following the closing date, your application will be forwarded to a
screening committee. Approximately 10 to 14 days later, you will be
notified by mail if you have not been selected for an interview.
Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted by telephone.
Authorization to Work: As required by the Immigration
Reform and Control Act of 1986, All persons who are offered employment
must provide the District with documents that establishes their identity
and employment eligibility.
Fingerprints: All persons must be fingerprinted and Department of
Justice clearance received by the Human Resources Department prior to
employment.
Loyalty Oath: On or before the first day of employment, all employees
must sign a Loyalty Oath.
Tuberculosis Test: Before being employed and beginning work for this
District, all persons are required to file evidence of having had a
tuberculosis examination (Intra-dermal skin test) with a negative
result. Medically verified positive skin test results require a chest
x-ray.
Physical: Some classified positions may require a Post Offer/Pre
Employment physical examination by a District secured physician.
Insurance: District paid insurance plans include
health, dental care, and employee only vision for full-time regular
employees. Part-time regular employees may be offered this package on a
pro-rata basis based on hours worked.
Employee benefits for those hired on the first working day of the month
will be effective the first of that month. Benefits for those hired
after the first working day of the month will be effective the first of
the following month.
Retirement Benefits: Certificated employees belong to the State
Teachers’ Retirement System (STRS). Classified employees belong to the
California Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).
Pay Period: Regular certificated and classified employees are paid once
a month, on the last working day of the month.
