K-12 Language Arts Curriculum Guidelines

The Language Arts Curriculum is a product of three years of collaborative work by the Language Arts Mentors, the Language Arts Task Force and the K-12 Healdsburg Unified School District teachers. The curriculum contains information from our own curriculum which includes the Standards of Expected Student Achievement (SESA’s), the Reading/Language Arts Framework for California Public Schools, the International Reading Association (IRA), and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).

Each standard contains items differentiated in the following manner:

Bold face items in regular type are SESA’s and local and state assessment items.

Bold face items in italics are State Standards.
