Sports physicals required before starting with any team
All High School and Junior High students must obtain a sports physical before they can join any athletic team. Several fall teams begin practices before school starts, so those athletes are encouraged to get their physical exam early. A sports physical is good for a year, so a good time to get one is during the summer. A reduced price clinic is provided in early August by local doctors – watch for the announcement in the Tribune.

New Chair For Communications Committee
After five years of chairing the Communications Committee, Pat Louvau has announced her retirement as the committee chair. Her children have long since graduated from Healdsburg schools and she feels that it is time for new energy and new ideas for keeping the community aware of what’s going on in our schools. She will continue to be involved with the committee behind the scenes and will continue to maintain the school websites.

Stepping in to take over the leadership of this group is Julie Conklin, an active Healdsburg parent with a background in marketing and technical writing. Julie and members of the committee have lots of new ideas for communicating with the Healdsburg community. And they’d love to hear from you. If you have more thoughts or time and energy to devote to this committee, please contact Julie at communications@husd.com or by phone at 486-4914. Your ideas and contributions are welcome whether or not you can attend the committee meetings.
