Issue 65 Update On Current and Scheduled Construction Projects The passage of Measures G & H allowed the HUSD to schedule nine (9) different building projects. Two of these projects, the HES Roof Replacement Project and the HES Playground Paving Project are complete. Several others are in progress. These include: High School Fields Project - Currently on schedule with a completion date of September 1, 2004. High School Classroom Building / Smith Robinson Remodel The Schematic Design and Design Development phase were completed earlier this year. The project is due to go out to bid mid-June with the bid being awarded mid-July. Construction is scheduled to take place July 16, 2004 April 21, 2005. Fitch Mountain Elementary School The Ed Spec was completed in November of last year, and the Schematic Design was approved by the School Board at the April 21st Board meeting. The committee is currently in the Design Development phase. This project is scheduled to go out to bid March, 2005. Construction of the new school is scheduled to begin May 2, 2005 with the school being completed August 11, 2006 just in time for the 2006/2007 school year. Fitch Interim Housing This summer, portable classrooms are scheduled to be set-up at HES and Foss for the FMS classes that have to be relocated during construction of the new school. The final three projects are not scheduled for completion for a couple of years, but they are in the works. These are: Healdsburg Elementary School K-Wing This project is actually further along than the next two as its been through the Schematic and Design phases even though it is not scheduled to go out to bid until May, 2006. Construction will begin as soon as the new Fitch Mountain School is complete. Healdsburg Elementary School Modernization is scheduled to take place over the summers of 2005 and 2006. The Schematic and Design phases are scheduled to take place later this year. Foss Creek Modernization will take place over the summer of 2006. Schematic and Design phases for this project are also scheduled to take place later this year. If you are interested in keeping up with how these projects are going, check out the HUSD website.
