Issue 44 Information Available to Parents School Construction Status Information Available Online The passage of bond measures G and H has resulted in the undertaking of many construction projects in the Healdsburg school district. These will be spread out over the next several years with final completion in 2006. Information about the status of these projects is now available through the website of Van Pelt Construction Services, the construction management firm overseeing all upcoming projects. For each project, the website contains current project schedules, names of architects, contractors, milestone dates, project status reports, and site photos. The website can be found at www.vpcsonline.com/husd and a link to it is available on the school district website at www.husd.com. HHS Daily Planners Available For Parents Next Year For the last 2 years, HHS has produced a complete daily planner/calendar/handbook for students which consists of an event calendar containing all important event dates (including sports events), a handbook with all vital school information and an assignment calendar for keeping track of all class assignments. This handbook has been provided free of charge to all students. So far, no such handbook has been available for parents. Next year, however, parents will be able to purchase their own copy of the handbook for $7. Next year’s complete book order must be placed in June, so parents should pre-order their copy now to assure that they get one in the fall. To order yours, send name, address and a check for $7 to PIN HHS Handbook, P.O. Box 1668, Healdsburg, CA 95448. The check should be made payable to Parent Information Network. Back Issues of This Column Available on HUSD Website Have you missed occasional issues of this column? Or wanted to review one from several months back? All of the articles that have ever appeared in this column can be found on the district website at www.husd.com/connection. The articles go back to the inception of the column in May 2001. Happy reading! Wishlist Reminder School budgets are way down this year and classrooms are finding themselves without some supplies that they have had in the past. The community is encouraged to lend a hand and help out with specific needs. Each school has prepared a wishlist of needed items and a link to all of them can be found on the district website at www.husd.com/wishlists. The wishlists are updated frequently so check them often. |
