District Curriculum Council

 

Purpose:

1.    Provide a central clearinghouse that reviews and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees on the adoption of:

  • Textbooks

  • Supplementary instructional materials and books

  • Literature books

  • Classes

  • Curriculum

2.    Create a broad based group who are aware of district and state initiatives.

3.    Provide interaction and articulation on a K-12 curriculum.

4.    Is a forum for change and innovations.

 

DCC Goals  

1.    Take leadership in implementing a comprehensive standards-based system as stated in Board Goal #2.

2.    Participate in a study group to foster the development of a community of learners in the district.

3.    Support the implementation of new language arts textbooks K-8 and mathematics textbooks K-6.

 

Meeting Schedule for 2005-06
                        All meetings are at the District Office from 3:30 - 5:00. The committee chair is Bob Pape.
