Lorri Emmerich,
Board President Lorri has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2002. She is the
general manager for Murphy-Goode Winery. She has one son who currently
attends Healdsburg High; Lorri also attended Healdsburg High, graduating
in 1977. In addition to the school board, she is a member of the board of
directors for the HFFCF and the Boys & Girls Club. In her spare time
she enjoys reading, golfing with her husband and son, and sharing a bottle
of wine with friends. |

Anne Schroeder, Vice-President/Clerk
Anne Schroeder has been a member of the Board of
Trustees since 2004. She has a degree from UC Davis in Engineering and
worked in industry as an engineer and project manager. She and her
husband Rich have two children attending Healdsburg schools. She is an
enthusiastic fan of her children’s sports activities and also enjoys
reading, quilting, knitting and cooking. |

Paul Deas Paul has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 1993. He is
an engineer by training and is the founder and president of Serra
Systems, Inc., a software development company in Healdsburg for industrial
automation applications. In addition to having gone through the entire
Healdsburg school system, he became involved with the school district when
working as a school bond measure committee chairman. Paul has 4 children
who are currently attending 3 different Healdsburg schools. In his spare
time he coaches soccer and basketball and attends numerous sporting events
watching his children participate. |

Judy Velasquez
Judy has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2004. She worked
in the Healdsburg schools for 25 years teaching second, fourth, fifth,
and sixth grades. She was a mentor teacher in reading, writing and
history. She attended the writing program at the University of New
Hampshire and implemented writing programs for the elementary schools.
Her husband was a counselor at the high school for 32 years and both her
son and daughter attended Healdsburg schools from pre-school through
grade twelve. She has two granddaughters and volunteers in the older's
second grade class in Petaluma and in Healdsburg's schools. She loves
reading, gardening, and quiltmaking. |

Mary Burke
Mary has been a member of the Board of Trustees since April, 2005. She was
headmaster of a coeducational independent school, grades 6-12, for 20 years
before retiring and moving to Healdsburg. She holds degrees from
Northwestern (BA. Comparative Literature) and Stanford (MA Education), where
she met and married her California husband, Dick, in 1967. After graduating
from Stanford, she taught English at Gunn High School in Palo Alto. She
earned her Ph.D. at Washington University ( 1984) in “The Learning Process”
(cognitive learning theory). Mary and Dick have two adult children, a
daughter who lives in San Francisco, and a son who lives in London. Their
first grandchild, Ane, was born March 13, 2005. Mary and Dick enjoy their
two golden retrievers, traveling, and living in Healdsburg. |

Mia
Smit, Student
Trustee (2005-06) Mia was born in Healdsburg and is now a senior at Healdsburg High. She is a member of the Debate and Interact Clubs. She has been on the swimming and tennis teams for the last three years and participated in Powderpuff football last year. In addition to swimming, she also teaches children swim lessons at the Healdsburg Pool during the summer and spring break. She has been life guarding at the Healdsburg Pool since last year and this summer also worked as a lifeguard at Windsor Waterworks and Slides. Mia has been involved in music since sixth grade and participated in the Santa Rosa Youth Symphony for three years. Since last year she has worked as a volunteer at Santa Rosa Memorial hospital. In her spare time she loves to travel, play cello, swim, spend time with friends, and watch the Giants play baseball. |
