Healdsburg Unified School District

About Us

The city of Healdsburg is located 70 miles North of San Francisco in the heart of Sonoma County’s wine country. Families choose Healdsburg for its vibrant mix of big city sophistication and small town warmth, which combine to create a stimulating and supportive environment for our students. Serving over 1300 students aged preschool – 12th grade, the Healdsburg Unified School District is made up of 5 schools housed on four campuses. As Healdsburg’s only public school system, HUSD is committed to the tenets of Rigor, Relevance and Community.
We aim to challenge and nurture our students with an academically rigorous educational experience that incorporates various support systems to help students realize their educational and career goals as well as their civic potential. Our teachers approach their classes with innovative, relevant and personalized learning opportunities, based in real world problem solving and critical thinking. Our dedicated team of educators work to break down historical or biased indicators that might have stood in the way of student success and strive to support our students and elevate their individual voices. As a part of a community with an amazing commitment to its youth, we are committed to forming lasting and meaningful partnerships with our community to improve and foster the educational opportunities we provide. To that end, we partner with the Healdsburg Education Foundation (HEF) to provide a deeper and more innovative educational experience.
HUSD is a community funded school district with an annual budget of $30 million. Our revenues are generated strictly from local property taxes and not from state revenues like most districts in California.
Through the commitment of our amazing staff and the incredible support of our community, the Healdsburg Unified School District is dedicated to giving our students the tools they need to thrive, both within and long after they leave our schools.
